DMF were called to provide a solution of high speed doors, for purpose of retaining odours within the process plant of a major waste company in Sydney’s western suburbs. The openings were the main garbage truck dumping areas, and so the doors needed to be high, fast in action, provide a good seal, and withstand the prevailing winds. The solution was the Series RL3000E Rapid Roll door, and DMF fitted 3 units. These were custom manufactured by DMF in their factory, and were installed sequentially so that the operations could continue. The doors are connected to traffic light control and activated by motion sensors as the garbage truck reverses to the opening. Door opening speeds were set at 1m/sec which means the doors are fully opened by the time the trucks have reversed into position to commence tipping. The exposed doors require a fast serviceability, and with DMF being a local manufacture, they can provide quick service and the customised parts for their extensive operations.
